People see a chiropractor for many reasons, such as chronic pain or enhanced sports performance. However, over 50% of individuals see their chiropractor simply to maintain their health and well being. Maintenance care utilizes regular adjustments to maintain optimal spine and nervous system function, helping to prevent pain and allowing you to be your best.
A 2018 study followed 328 people with low back pain over a one year trial period. One group received adjustments every 1-3 months, while the other group was only adjusted when pain recurred. The researchers found that the people in the maintenance care group experienced 13 FEWER DAYS of bothersome low back pain compared to the symptom-guided group. By addressing issues before symptoms arise, maintenance care lowers the number of days of pain with only two extra adjustments per year than the symptom guided group.
It is important to keep your spine working well, even if you don't experience pain. Consider chiropractic maintenance care to help you function at your optimal potential!
