Halloween is so much fun, but "tricky" when it comes to managing massive quantities of candy/sugar. Here are some tips to dilute the effects:
- Consider play dough, stickers, party favors or trading cards for younger kids.
- Have your kids "trade the candy in" for something else - like a book or a toy (lego).
- Put the extra treats out of sight.
- Divide some of the leftover candy into portions and put in snack baggies.
- Keep a small amount and throw the rest away.
- Take excess to work or group meetings.
- Smarties advertise that they use “No Artificial Colours”
- “Florida Naturals” makes snack size natural sour treats.
- Don't buy Halloween candy early.
- Skip the Halloween candy sale on November 1st.
